Food and accommodation costs can vary from lodge to lodge or the type of package you take for your trip. A person is bound to spend USD 30 to 40 per day for basic accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast: Breakfast for a day normally costs from $5 to $ 7. If you order a set breakfast, the cost can get cheaper but ordering each food individually can cost you more amount of money.

Lunch: The cost for lunch per day is from $6 to $8 which includes tea breaks too. But you can reduce your lunch cost if you are tight on the budget.

Dinner: Dinner can cost from $5 to $9 per day. Dal, Bhat, and Tarkari (Nepali food) are easily available. It has free refills, is very good for trekking and is super healthy. You may have the option of eastern and western foods as well.

Packing Gear Cost for Annapurna Circuit

Trekking equipment needs to be carefully picked out. You cannot go on a trek without proper planning and buying appropriate trekking gear. You need to make a list of necessary equipment and make sure that they are properly packed.

I suggest you hire stuff from Kathmandu rather than buying your own. This way, you can save a significant amount of money. If you already have a few gears, the cost of trekking equipment decreases.

The favourable season for this trek is Autumn (from September to November) and spring (from March to May). If you visit the Annapurna circuit in the offseason then the cost of food and accommodation is relatively lower.

Annapurna Circuit Guide and Porter Cost

Guides for this trek are available easily. Taking a licensed guide will make it easier for you to find an appropriate place to stay. Guides know the safe route to take to the circuit and can find accommodations at a cheaper cost.

But taking a local guide will make your trek more fun, safe, and comfortable and you will know a lot about local culture. An experienced guide can charge $20 to $30 per day. But it all depends on how you deal with your guide, to be honest.

Similarly, a porter can charge about $15 to $20 per day. You can find porter for a lesser wage as well. Also, your Porter’s cost depends on your packing. You can bargain your payment if you have a significantly lighter bag.

But the risk of not taking a guide is too high and you can be at a large disadvantage so you might not want to go on a trek by yourself.

Especially the rookie trekkers must take a guide with them.

There are other beautiful places around Manang. Milarepa Cave and ice lake are popular destinations among tourists, as well.

It’s worth adding a couple of days to explore some of these places. If you are going on a solo trek then you can make up your own route depending on the time you’ve estimated for the trek. And you can stay longer or shorter than the given package days.

Some Basic Tips:

  • There are not any ATMs as you go to a higher altitude. So it is better to carry enough cash both in dollars and Nepali rupees.
