About Chisapani Nagarkot Trek

The nearest hiking trail to Kathmandu, Chisapani Nagarkot trek offers a close glimpse of the pristine Himalayan peaks amidst the fresh environment away from dust and crowd of the city. This can be a wonderful experience for the trekkers with a short time in hand. A 3 days hike near Kathmandu, Chisapani Nagarkot hike is also known as Sundarijal, Chisopani, and Nagarkot or, Chisapani Nagarkot Trek. Although a short trek, Chisapani Nagarkot trek assimilates the flavours of both the natural and adventurous getaway.

The 6-days trip begins at Kathmandu. Followed by a cultural tour of Boudhanath, you’ll drive to Sundarijal to begin the trek. Sundarijal Chisapani Nagarkot Trek undertakes in the outskirts of Kathmandu city. The initial hike follows the forested route from Sundarijal towards Chisapani village. You’ll pass through the lush forested areas of Shivapuri National Park and witness some of the ethnic settlements in the area. From Chisapani, you’ll make your way towards Nagarkot. You may witness rich oak and rhododendron forests on the trail. Nagarkot is a popular hill-station located just outside the Kathmandu city. A popular getaway for both the local and foreign tourists, it offers some of the magnificent scenery of the Himalayas including Everest (8848m), Ganesh Himal (7422m), Gaurishankar Himal (7134m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and Langtang massif. In the morning, you can enjoy the breathtaking sunrise from the local watch tower at Nagarkot. Afterwards, you’ll drive towards Bhaktapur Durbar Square, home to age-old palaces and temples dating back over 500 years. You will also witness the greater architecture, culture, and art of the Newar tribe of Bhaktapur before driving back to your hotel. The trip concedes at Kathmandu. Chisapani Nagarkot hiking can be accessed throughout the year. However, spring (March-June) and autumn (September-November) seasons guarantee the best weather and visibility.

The Chisapani Nagarkot Trek begins at Kathmandu. Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will warmly receive you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. After the complete orientation of the trip, you can choose to relax at the hotel or go out to take a stroll around the market. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Today, you’ll drive from your hotel to take a sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu Valley. You will visit places like Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Pashupatinath. Following the tour, you head to Boudhanath. The 500 years old stupa is surrounded by numerous shops and diners and is mostly inhabited by the Tibetans. The Buddhist pilgrims visit the stupa every day to perform the circumambulation ritual. The historical temples and palaces in the city date back 500-700 years. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Today, you’ll drive from Thamel to Sundarijal. Once at Sundarijal, you’ll make your way upwards through the hills and forested trail on the first day of the Chisapani Nagarkot hiking. You’ll enter the Shivapuri National Park and walk towards the Mulkharka, the first settlement you’ll encounter on the trail. The village is mostly inhabited by the people of Tamang tribe. Walking through the ridge covered with the oak and rhododendron forest you’ll arrive at Chisapani. Overnight stay at Chisapani.

Today, you’ll hike further away from Chisapani towards the scenic hill-station of Nagarkot. Nagarkot is a popular tourist getaway famous for its pristine nature, great sceneries, and finest hotels. The 6-hour hike from Chisapani will take you to Nagarkot through Chauki Bhanjyang. On a clear day, you will even get to see the summit of Mount Everest (8848m) visible in the distance. Overnight stay at Nagarkot.

You’ll wake up early and witness the beautiful sunrise with the panoramic mountain view. After breakfast, you’ll Trek down the hills of Nagarkot towards the Telkot. You have mostly downhill to here and hike about a half an hour to the next hill and hike along the ridge with the view of the mountain and the valley. After reaching Changunatayan, you visit the Temple here which is one of the world heritage site on Nepal then have lunch and drive back to Kathmandu. Frolic Adventure invites the farewell dinner this evening.
