Best Time for 6 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek

ABC Short Trek is most prevalent during the peak Trekking seasons in Nepal: Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (September, October, November). These are the Best Times to Trek because the weather and temperature in the Annapurna Base Camp are excellent.

The atmosphere is clean, and the Himalayan views are radiant. The chances of rainfall are significantly less. So, it would be best not to worry about walking over the wet and slippery trails. The surrounding vistas will be at their Best.

Trekking at the Best Time, you’ll have a beautiful experience. The mild temperature makes it easier and more comfortable to Trek. In spring, the daytime temperature varies between 17 to 20 degrees Celsius. Likewise, in Autumn, the daytime temperature ranges between 15 to 17 degrees Celsius.

Nights are colder than the days. But some warm clothes will keep you warm. But there’s no need to carry heavy and bulky clothes as in winter. A down jacket, a woolen hat, and warm trousers shall do good.

Difficulties During the Annapurna Base Camp Trek- 6 Days

Many trekkers ask, “How difficult are the 6 Days ABC Trek?” before they plan a Trek to Annapurna Base Camp. I’d say the Annapurna Base Camp Trek in itself is moderately complex. But since you’re trying to do this trek in 6 days, the length, distance, and effort can be a bit more challenging.

Some of the terms that determine the difficulty of 6 Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek are:

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Length

The Pokhara to Annapurna Base Camp Distance is around 115 km. You will cover this distance during your 6 Days in the Annapurna Base Camp. This means you’ll have to do 15 to 25 kilometers in a single day.

The trail will not be flat and easy. Several ascends and descends make the Track difficult. So, you must prepare your body for long and tiring distances.

Sensitive Avalanche-prone Areas: Technical Walks

You will be walking through several areas prone to avalanches and mudslides. Walking through the areas is full of risk. You should walk carefully and at a reasonable speed in the regions.

Walking hours per day

During the Trek, be ready to walk for 8 to 10 hours a day. While on the hike, you cannot complain about the trek route. So, figure out the best way for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek before your Trek.

Bring some snacks and energy bars. You might need them while you Trek. They will supply energy during the long days to keep going.

Physical Fitness and Stamina

You must’ve known till now that the Short Annapurna Base Camp 6 Days Trek isn’t as easy as you expected. So, you must have a fit body and an excellent physique to do this Trek.

Now, what can you do to boost your endurance? Well, you can train your body. You can go to the gym maybe a month before your trek. Also, you can practice a few hikes before the tour. This will help. You’ll also know how long you can walk and at what speed.

Food and Health

While you take, you must know what you are eating. The food you take while you Trek fuels you. You’ll need more energy. So, you know what to eat and drink, right?

Eat healthy food. Order diets that supply you with total energy to walk. You’ll be losing more calories and burning your fats. Three good meals a day shall fulfill the loss.

Also, it would be best to ensure you don’t get sick. There are lots of trekkers who say they had an upset stomach while trekking. For that, you should avoid drinking tap water. They might be contaminated. Drink bottled water. Even drinking tap water, use purifiers and water bottles with filters.

Carry general medicines for colds, diarrhea, allergy, and coughs.

The Long Stone Stairs: Your Knee Hurts

Most of the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking trail comprises stone stairs. And the Trekking terrain is mostly steep hills and semi-rocky terrain. The stone steps are long. Throughout the Trek, ascending the path- reaching a height- and again descending continues.

If you have knee problems, be ready for knee pains. They will be exercising a lot. So, it is better to wear a knee cap if you have knee pains. Also, bring bandages and pain relievers. You might need them as well.

Altitude Sickness: Not A Big Risk, But Still Counts

You’ll reach the maximum altitude of 4130 meters at the Annapurna sanctuary. On the Trek, you will gradually gain a certain height every day. Altitude sickness isn’t a significant risk to most trekkers. However, some trekkers feel sick during the Trek.

Thus, it is good that you get some ideas on altitude sickness, its symptoms, and the prevention measures.

Note: The 6 Days Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek is graded as a moderate-difficulty trek. Anyone can go on the tour with proper preparations, decent physical fitness, and a strong mentality. Previous trekking experiences are not mandatory. But if you have them, it will be easier to do this Trek.
