About Tamang Heritage Trek

The Tamang Heritage Trek in Nepal is a laid-back trekking experience in the Langtang region. Enjoy a trek into the seldom ventured land with Tamang villages and a picturesque landscape that is in touching distance of Tibet while exploring the lifestyle and culture of Tamang tribes indigenous to this region. Also, observe the geo-religious connections influenced by neighbouring Tibet in the Tamang heritage trail. The exotic Himalayan range including Langtang (7227m) and Ganesh Himal (7422m) add to the Tamang heritage trek as you blend community-based trekking with the Himalayan experience.

Spread across the sprawling Langtang National Park north of Kathmandu, the Tamang heritage trail trek starts at Sybrubensi. A sightseeing tour of World Heritage sites in Kathmandu is followed by a road trip north of Kathmandu. The actual heritage trek starts with a trek up Trishuli and Goljung valley ending at Gatlang village. This beautiful Tamang settlement will be your firsthand experience of this indigenous tribe, inhabitants of the hills and believed to have migrated from Tibet as horse traders. A trip to hot streams at Tatopani precedes a trek up Nagthali village which is a viewpoint of the majestic mountain range. Monasteries at Briddhim add to the significance of Tamang heritage trek in Nepal showcasing a religious harmony and belief that is unique to remote regions of Nepal. This trek is a wholesome experience as we gather an outlook into a rural lifestyle while giving them a livelihood with our visits. The Heritage trek combines an enlightening experience of remote hilly life with a chance to join the Tibetan influenced tribe and gain an insight into the lives of the Tamang community. Like most treks in Nepal, Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November) is the best time to take on this trek. Winter (December-February) is also an option as this trek does not involve high altitude climbing and is relatively comfortable.

Frolic Adventure Treks is delighted to bring you the Tamang Heritage trek in Nepal. We are committed to fulfilling your expectations of a trekking expedition in Nepal by bundling it with a Heritage adventure as you explore the culture and lifestyle of a particular Himalayan tribe.
