About Helambu Trek

Helambu Trek is a beautiful cultural Trek in Nepal. It is about one week's Trek from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. Helambu Trek is very close to Kathmandu, where you can see the rural life of Nepal. This area is under the devolving region, even more, comparable to Kathmandu. Helambu Trek is easy trekking in Nepal. This is quite Trekking, so you will only have a few tourists.

The people from this Trekking Route are Chhetries, Newars, Tamangs, and Sherpas. Mainly the people practicing Hinduism and Buddhism in Helambu. Hyolmo Buddhism culture is in this area, so the name Helambu came from the word Hyolmo. People dress traditionally in the Helambu Area. Green Forests of rhododendron and bamboo, waterfalls, the mountain range of Ganesh Himal and Langtang, farming terraces of rice, millet, corn, and many more…are the most popular attractions of the Helambu trek. Besides the above mention things, flora, fauna, and birds are friendly to see. Some Hindu temples, the stupa, prayer wheel, mani walls, prayer flags, and Monasteries make your Helambu Trekking more worthwhile.  

Helambu Trekking starts from Sundarijal after driving about an hour from the central city. Sundarijal is one of the drinking water sources for Kathmandu Valley and the hydropower station. After ascending about 45 minutes to Mulkharka, starts Shivapuri national park. Crossing some local villages and the forest, you will reach Chisapani Hill. On the way to Chisapani, you will see a lovely view of Kathmandu Valley from some angle. Trekking through Gulbhanjyang, Kutumsang, Thadepati, Tarkeghyang, Sermathang, and Helambu trek ends at Melamchi Bazar. After spending a night in the teahouse at Melamchi, the next day, you drive back to Kathmandu by private or public transportation.
