About Mardi Himal Trek

The Mardi Himal Trek in the Annapurna region is a perfect mountain trip in Nepal for those who are planning a trip with limited time, beginners, elderlies, and families with kids in the Nepalese Himalayas. It is a pretty new trekking trail inside the Annapurna Conservation Area and is becoming popular because of its natural attractions.

The Trek to Mardi Himal begins in the beautiful lake city of Pokhara and then drives to Phedi, Ghattekhola, or Kande. Alternatively, you can start the Trek from Siding Village. Getting off the vehicle in Kande, the Mardi Himal Trail goes to Deurali on the first day via the Australian camp. After that, the Trek goes to a forest camp on the second day through a dense forest of pine, oak, and rhododendron trees. The Mardi High Camp is the last place where you can get accommodation.

The Trekking route offers stunning mountain views of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Annapurna I, II, and IV, Fishtail, Mardi Himal, and more. Besides the high, snow-capped Himalayas and green nature, the edges of bonnie hills and valleys add more prettiness to the Trekking route to Mardi Himal. You can also see outstanding views of the Modi River valley towards the Annapurna base camp and big villages like Chhomrong and Ghandruk on the other side.

Frolic Adventure can be a channel for you to take advantage of seeing these beauties and reaching the base camp of the Mardi Himal. We are operating the Mardi Trek at a reasonable cost and providing experienced Trekking guides for our valued clients. You can contact us for private departures and other essential information about the Mardi Himal trip.

Mardi Himal Itinerary

Our regular Trekking Itinerary of the Mardi Himal is for seven days, but you can do it in five days if you can walk fast. It goes to over 4,200m, so you might get altitude sickness if you walk fast. Our hiking route goes through Kande and the Australian camp to Deurali on the first day, then the forest camp on the second. After that, you go to low camp and high camp accordingly. The next day, from the high camp, you hike to the Mardi base camp through the viewpoint.

You have a long day's Trek to Siding after spending two nights at the high camp. You might take transportation to Pokhara from Siding if you have a group and reserve a jeep on the same day. Or you can trek a couple of hours the next day to Lumre and catch a bus to Pokhara from Siding.

The Best Time for Mardi Himal

October, November, and April are the best months for Mardi Himal trekking. December offers better visibility than the other months, but it starts with cold temperatures. If you are looking for a trip that is not crowded and has amazing views, we recommend going in December to Mardi Himal. September and May are also good, but early May might have some rainy days during the trek. Blooming rhododendrons in spring and cherry blossoms in November make the trail beautiful.

The Trekking trail after Badal Danda can be risky if there is snow. So, winter and the beginning of spring can be brutal for trekking to the Mardi Himal base camp. Likewise, the monsoon is not a good season for this Trek. There are many rainy days and leeches on the trail during the monsoon.
