Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu | Altitude: 1350m

Welcome to Nepal! Our team will make sure your warmest welcome in Nepal. They will make all the arrangements for your transfer from the airport to your hotel. You'll then have a quick orientation about the Tamang Heritage Langtang trek. After it, you can go outside to stroll around the most happening places in Kathmandu. There are some excellent places to hang out in the evening. Overnight at Kathmandu

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing | Altitude: 1350m

On this day, you'll tour the significant tourist attractions of Kathmandu. Kathmandu is a city full of ancient temples. It also has some historical places enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swaymbhunath, and Boudhanath are the UNESCO sites you'll visit on day two. After this whole-day tour, you will get a quick insight into Nepali culture and art. Night stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi | Time: 6-7hr | Altitude: 1500m |

After breakfast, you'll leave Kathmandu City for the Tamang Heritage trip. The drive will be towards Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Region Treks. This beautiful village sits 50 km north of the center of Nepal, Kathmandu. So it is a 50 km scenic bus ride from Kathmandu.

The bus will run around 120 km by the sides of the Trishuli River and green villages till reaching Syabrubesi. And after the 7 hours of watchful bus ride, you'll arrive at the overnight destination, Syabrubesi. If you arrive before sunset, you can stroll around this remote village. Overnight at Lodge of Syabrubesi.

Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang Village | Time: 5hr | Altitude: 2200m

Today, you'll aim to reach Gatlang before dusk. After breakfast at Syabrubesi, you'll sign off from this village by starting to Trek through the settlements of the Tamangs. Then you'll start your first of many hill ascents to reach the top of Rongga Bhanjyang. And from there, you'll fall downwards to Goljung Village for a break and lunch.

Goljung is a village of the Gurung settlements. You'll get to taste the lunch they made and have a little insight into their lifestyles. While in Goljung village, you can observe peaks like Langtang, Shishapangma, Ganesh Himal, and others. Then restarting the Trek, you'll reach Gatlang village in 3 hours from Goljung Village. Gatlang Village is another Tamang village where you can visit Parvati Kund, the sacred pond of this region, and an ancient monastery. Overnight at Lodge of Gatlang Village

Day 05: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani | Time: 6-7hr | Altitude: 2607m

You'll check out Tatopani after a delicious breakfast. After a few steps, you'll see some religious Mani walls and the Chhortens of Thambuchet village. Passing the village, you will enter the dense forest trails.

You'll see the beautiful long waterfall along the trail at one point. Then crossing the jungle, you'll make it to the Chilime hydropower dam, and from there, it's a continuous fall until Tatopani. "Tatopani" means hot water or spring in English.

You can enjoy a hot spring bath there and feel recharged for the trek. There is a belief that bathing at Tatopani washes all the individual's sins. After a healing bath, you'll check in and then explore Tatopani. Overnight at the Lodge of Tatopani

Day 06: Trek from Tatopani to Nagthali | Time: 3hr | Altitude: 3165m

This day you'll start with a walk into the dense forest of the alpines. You may see some wildlife like deer and monkeys while moving into the jungle. And completing the forest walk, you'll reach the viewpoint Nagthali Hill station(3165m).

This is the highest point of this Tamang Heritage Langtang trek. This hilltop full of grassland provides unreal views of Mt Langtang, Mt Ganesh Himal, and several other beautiful peaks. This viewpoint is once the center for meditation for local Buddhist monks. After enough of the views and cool air at the top, you'll fall from the top and walk to Nagthali village before nightfall. Overnight at Nagthali.

Day 07: Trek from Nagthali to Briddhim | Time: 7hr | Altitude: 2229m

Today is the longest trekking day of the entire Tamang Heritage Trekking in Langtang. Tie your laces tighter as you descend through Thuman village(2338m). It is the settlements of Tamang peoples where you can find a mixture of the Tamang and Tibetan cultures.

This beautiful village showcases the lifestyle and traditions of the Langtang region people. The Thuman village also houses an ancient monastery; you can visit it here. And passing further in the trail, you'll reach Timure, the last town before the Nepal-China border.

Then, you will trek amid the red Rhododendron forest before descending the hill. And, walking down, you'll reach Briddhim(2229m). Briddhim is one more Tibetan culture-influenced village. You'll be adding more and more insights about the Tamang-Tibetan culture here in this whole trek. You can also visit the ancient Dukhchu Monastery of Briddhim village.

Tamang Heritage route in Langtang is mostly about culture and heritage exploration. This famous village also provides good homestays. So, you can add more experience by staying at the homestay than at the lodge, overnight at the Lodge of Bridim.

Place: Briddhim

Day 08: Trek from Briddhim to Syabrubesi | Time: 4hr | Altitude: 1500m

Now, you'll be moving toward the end of this valuable Tamang Heritage trip. On this day, you will pack your bag for making the return to Syabrubesi, from where it all began. Today the trails will fall through the riversides, terrace fields, and settlements. You'll start by moving along the sides of the Bhote Koshi River.

Then, you'll cross the bridge to reach the beautiful terrace field trials. Walking through these fields is like walking over the areas of any forbidden Kingdom. The trails will take you to the small village of Wangyal. Walking past Wangyal, you'll reach the starting point of this trek, Syabrubesi. And here, you'll walk part of the entire Tamang Heritage Langtang Trek. Overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 09: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu | 6-7hr | Altitude: 1350m

You'll join the bus ride from Syabrubesi to reach Kathmandu. The bus will retrace the same road, following the same highway. Like the last bus ride, this bus ride will also provide many scenic displays. This time ride will be uphill toward Kathmandu.

On arriving in Kathmandu, you'll unload your bag and have some rest. Later in the evening, you can stroll and hang out after an extended stay in the remoteness. Then you'll be given a farewell meeting and dinner from the Frolic Adventure team. Overnight at Kathmandu

Day 10: Final Departure

On your final day, you can go for last-minute shopping in the markets of Kathmandu. You can take lots of gifts and accessories for your family and friends. Be aware of the flight time while shopping. You have to reach the airport several hours before your departure.

Best Time to do Tamang Heritage

Spring and Autumn are the two best seasons to trek anywhere in Nepal. As in these seasons, the weather is ideal and in perfect shape. You can enjoy the trek with unobstructed views of the landscapes and mountains. Temperature is also moderate during these seasons, which is an excellent condition for any hike. The weather is clear and stable, with neither rain nor snowfall.

The winter season is also a possible period for Tamang Heritage in Langtang. This is a medium-altitude trek reaching a max height of 3165m, so there are fewer chances of snowfall during winter. Winter is also the best time to view clear skies and snow-filled mountain views. You can also do Tamang Heritage in Winter with proper clothing and equipment.

On the other hand, the Monsoon season is not the ideal time for this trek. Due to rainfalls, the trails are primarily slippery and muddy to walk on. Also, the weather gets harsh during the Monsoon season. So, Tamang Heritage is not suggested during the Monsoon Season.
