The Mardi Himal trek is short in the Annapurna region. It is a new trekking trail on the eastern ridge of the Annapurna base camp trekking trail. It offers the best view of the Annapurna massif throughout the open ridge and a very close view of the beautiful mountain Fishtail.

This 5- day Mardi Himal trek is one of the short and moderate treks in the Annapurna Himalayan range. Mardi Himal trek can be done by even beginner trekkers, families, and seniors, but I suggest following the standard itinerary for them. The itinerary on this blog is dedicated to trekkers who can walk long hours per day and already have hiking experiences.

5- Days Short Mardi Himal Trekking Itinerary

This short Mardi Himal trekking itinerary starts from Pokhara to Pokhara. Day-1 Drive to Kande (1770m) for 45 minutes and trek to Forest Camp (2520m) for 8 hrs

You drive to Kande from Pokhara by private or local transport from Pokhara, but we suggest hiring a private vehicle which is faster and more comfortable. After 45 minutes to Kande, the main trekking trail ascends to the Australian Camp. Crossing Pothana, the trail climbs again through rhododendron, oak, and other trees forest until Deurali, where you have a lunch break. After lunch in Deurali, the trail follows you inside the dense forest for another 4 hours to the Forest camp and spends the first night of this trek.

Day-2 Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp (3540m) 7-8 hrs

After breakfast at the Forest Camp guest house, the trail leads upwards, continuing towards the high Camp, passing the rest camp, low Camp, and Badal Danda. Badal Danda is a lunch stop from where you can enjoy the scenic view of the mountain and the valley on your right and left. You cross the tree line from Badal Danda and see unblocked views until the High Camp.

Day- 3 Hike to Mardi base camp (4250m) 4hrs and Trek to Badal Danda (3200m) 8 hrs

Today is the primary day because you are reaching your goal. After breakfast at the high camp guest house, you hike to the base camp, passing lower and upper viewpoints. The view from the perspectives is more fantastic than the base camp. After visiting the base camp, you hike back to the high Camp, have lunch, and trek back a few hours to Badal Danda.

Day- 4 Trek from Badal Danda to Siding village (1700 m) 4 hrs.

After enjoying the morning view from Badal Danda, you start trekking down to Siding crossing a low camp. The trail is steeply down, following some animal sheds, villages, and beautiful forest, and arrives at Siding. If you would like to hire a private jeep and would like to go to Pokhara earlier, you even reserve a jeep from here.

Day 5 Trek from Siding to Lumre (2 hrs) and drive to Pokhara (2 hrs)

You need to walk for about 2 hrs in the morning from Siding to Lumre and catch the transportation to Pokhara, which takes another 2 hours drive. Once you reach Pokhara, you can celebrate your successful trekking trip of the short Mardi trek.
