The Annapurna Base Camp is one of the popular Trekking destinations in Nepal. It is dedicated to real adventurous trekkers, regular trekkers, friends, and families. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek follows through the Modi River Valley. The major attraction of this trek is the closer view of the Annapurna Massif with the massive Annapurna Glacier.

The Annapurna I (8091m.) is the tenth-highest mountain in the world and the 8th highest in Nepal. The Trek starts from Nayapul after driving about 2 hours from Pokhara. There are public and private transportations to drive.

Annapurna Base Camp trips can be made with different itineraries according to the visitor’s time frame. This Trek offers a stunning view of the Annapurna Massif, the traditional villages of Gurung/Magar, local culture, hot springs, flora and fauna, and much more. The standard itinerary has been noticed here, but it can be done in one week to two weeks, so we make different itineraries for our clients according to their requests and time.

The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is recommended during the autumn and the spring. The spring will be a more colorful forest with blooming rhododendron everywhere along the way to the Annapurna Base Camp.

Detailed Itinerary of Annapurna Base Camp

Annapurna I

Day-1- Drive to Nayapul (1070m.) - 1 hr. drive. Trek to Tikhedhunga. (1540M.) 3 hrs

You see the beautiful mountains from the hotel in the morning and have breakfast. Today you drive to Nayapul by private transport or a public bus which takes about 2 hours. When we reach Nayapul, then start the first-day Trek. Crossing a suspension bridge, walk on a flat area about half an hour to Birethanti from where the Annapurna conservation area starts. After checking your permits here, you follow the Bhurungdi Valley walking on the rough road. This is your first day on the Trek, so you don't walk a long day. The tour today is about 3-4 hours to Tikhedhunga.

Day-2- Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,850m.) 7 hrs

Leaving Tikhedhunga behind, you start to Trek upwards to Ulleri. The trail begins with lots of stone steps. After walking for about 2 hours uphill, you catch your breath at Ulleri with the views of the beautiful valley, green hills, traditional Magar houses, some white peaks, and much more; continue the Trek to Banthanti, where you stop for lunch. After lunch, you enter the dense forest of Oak, Pine, rhododendron, and more trees. You see some beautiful waterfalls along the way in this area. Crossing Nangithanti, you reach Ghorepani, where you see colorful buildings. Ghorepani is the land of the Magar people.

Day-3- Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m.) and trek to Tadapani (2610m.) 5 hrs

This is an important day to see the stunning Himalayas with unblocked sunrise from Poon Hill. We need to start very early before the daylight with a flashlight. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to reach the Poon Hill Tower. You can see Dhaulagiri and Annapurna's Big white mountain ranges from here. After taking some beautiful shots, hike to the guesthouse and have breakfast. After breakfast, trek towards Tadapani following the other hill similar to Poon Hill. You ascend for about 1 hour to the next ridge and then Trek another half an hour through the Rhododendron, Pine, and bamboo forest and Trek downwards to a small settlement Deurali. Again you descend to Banthanti following a stream and see big rocks around you. The trail can be slippery somewhere around here. You have lunch at the Banthanti, then Trek another hour and a half to Tadapani.

Day-4- Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2170m.) 5 hrs

You wake early today to see another beautiful sunrise and the Annapurna Himalayan range, including the most beautiful mountain Fishtail, then have breakfast. After breakfast, you trek down through the rhododendron forest to Chuile, descend for another half an hour, then cross a suspension bridge. After the bridge, you ascend to Gurung. Leaving behind Gurjun, you climb another hour and trek 45 minutes more to Chhomrong.

Day-5- Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan (2600m.) 6 hrs

You trek downwards through the beautiful Chhomrong village, following the stone steps for half an hour, then cross a suspension bridge. Right after crossing the bridge, you ascend to Sinuwa, which takes about 2 hours. You stop here for a few minutes to catch up on your breath and enjoy the view. We then trek again into the forest for another 2 hours to Bamboo and stop for the lunch break. You walk another hour through the forest to Dovan.

Day-6-Trek from Dovan to Deurali (3200m.) 4 hrs

Your Trek continues through the forest, following the valley with huge rocks on both sides of you. After your 2 hours walk, you reach to Himalayan Hotel, and again, the trail follows into the forest and reaches Hinku cave. You descend from here, cross a stream, and climb another half an hour to Deurali.

Day-7- Trek from Deurali to Annapurna base camp (4130m.) 4 hrs

This is your special day because of reaching your final destination. Walk about 2 hours upwards to Machhapuchchhre Base Camp, where you stop for a few minutes and enjoy the scenic Mountain View with some hot drinks. After your little rest here, you trek to the Annapurna base camp. We have lunch here and explore the base camp to see the Annapurna glacier and Annapurna Massif, including Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South, Fishtail, and more, with a beautiful sunset view.

Day-8- Trek back from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m.) 5-6 hrs

you see the incredible view of Annapurna Himalaya in the morning when the sun rises on the mountains, then have your breakfast at your guesthouse. Today you start descending backward, following the same trail to Bamboo passing MBC, Deurali, Himalaya, and Dovan.

Day-9- Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda. Natural hot spring. (1780m.) 5 hrs

You return to Sinuwa and Chhomrong with the same trail you Trekked up to the Annapurna Base Camp. It takes about 4 hours to arrive at Chhomrong and stop for your lunch. You steeply trek downhill from here another 45 minutes to an hour to Jhinudanda. Today is another lovely day to explore the natural hot spring, where we forget the cold of the base camp with hot water. You return to the guest house after a few hours at the hot pool.

Day-10- Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul 6hrs. And drive to Pokhara. 2hrs

You are in the low-elevation area today, so it won't be challenging for you to walk. You Trek down for about half an hour, cross a bridge, and then climb for about 15 minutes. Here you have the flat part and descend about 30 minutes to New Bridge. Again, you descend through the forest and small settlements and reach Siwai, where you join the road. You still Trek another hour to Syauli Bazaar, where your food kills our hunger. You travel on the road again for another 2 to 2 hours to Nayapul. Here you can catch a Bus or hire a taxi to Pokhara. You are in the city and may visit some bars to celebrate your Trek.
