You can trek to the Ghorepani Poon hill throughout the year, but choosing the right season makes a beautiful visit for you. You won’t reach much higher elevation during this trek, so you can even go there during winter, but there will be many difficulties during monsoon season.

Autumn and spring are the best time to trek to the Ghorepani Poon hill, but you can even trek during winter. Trekking in summer is not recommended because it will be rainy days and clouds. Also, there are many leeches along the way of the Poon hill region in monsoon.

Ghorepani Poon Hill in Autumn

Autumn is one of Nepal's best trekking falls, so that it can be the best time for crystal-clear mountain views. The autumn months are September, October, and November. Although, the first half of September has some rainy days.

October and November don't have rain mostly and offer clear mountain views. You meet hundreds of trekkers on this route daily in October and November. Not just clear weather, the temperature in these months is also bearable. You can also see blooming Himalayan cheery (Sakura) along the way to Poon hill in November.

Poon Hill Trek in Spring

Spring begins in March and stays until May. It is also a particular trekking season in Nepal to the mountain region. Spring is when you can see blooming colorful flowers in the forest. The forest around the Ghorepani trekking region is covered by rhododendron, so that you can see a beautiful forest with blooming rhododendron during your poon hill trek in spring.

Spring is a dry season, so there will not be a chance of rain, but it might sometimes be some big wind and hailstone in the evening. There might be hazy days during spring in the lower region, and you might not see clear visibility from a far distance, but you can see amazing views from Poon hill.

Poon Hill Trek in Winter

You can also trek to Ghorepani Poon hill in winter. The winter starts in December and stays until February. It will be a cold temperature these times, so you need to have super warm trekking gear. It will be colder in December compared to November and spring, but the views are even better from morning to evening.

The views in the morning during winter are beautiful because of the fog in the valley with mist. It lifts higher after the sun's heat and covers the mountains during the day.

Winter can be one of the best times for you if you do not like to trek in crowded and do not mind cold temperatures. The lodges are mostly empty during the winter, so you do not have to worry about booking accommodation during the Ghorepani trek in winter.

Ghorepani Trek in Summer

The Summer months are June, July, and August in Nepal. It rains a lot during these months, so trekking to the Ghorepani Poon hill is not a perfect season at these times. The visibility is not good, so you might not have amusement from the trek during the summer.

The trekking trails are slippery, and lots of leeches along the way. You may not see mountain views, but it might be a clear day in the monsoon. You can see greenery surroundings, beautiful waterfalls, and other natural beauties during trekking to Poon hill in summer. You must bring rain gear and waterproof hiking boots if you plan a trek to Ghorepani Poon hill in summer.

March to May in spring and September to November are the best times to trek to the Ghorepani Poon hill. However, December could be one of the best months because the weather remains clear from morning to evening. You can even trek to Poon hill during January and February. It will be cold temperatures, but the views are still lovely in winter. Like the other three seasons, summer may not be a perfect time for Ghorepani Pon hill. However, you can still trek during monsoon season if you love greenery and other natural beauties with a peaceful environment.
