Where is the Annapurna region located?

The Annapurna Himalayan range is located in the west from Kathmandu. Annapurna region is a famous trekking destination for the external and the internal tourist in Nepal. This is the region that most visited trek area than the other trek.

How many trek packages in Annapurna?

There are 10-12 trekking packages in the Annapurna region. You can pick one of them according to your time limit, fitness, interest, and budget. Annapurna circuit is a long Annapurna trek which is the full circuit and a half circuit trek. Annapurna base camp trek, Mardi Himal trek, Ghorepani Poon hill trek, Jomsom Muktinath trek, and Annapurna view trek are the regular trek packages of the Annapurna region. Khopra Danda trek and Mohare Danda trek are newly opened, less popular but amazing trekking itineraries here and Upper Mustang and Nar Phu are the special (Restricted trek) in Annapurna. You can also visit some beautiful high mountain lakes in this region.

How difficult is the Annapurna trek?

The most trek packages of the Annapurna trek are not difficult except Annapurna circuit trek. Annapurna trek packages are mainly dedicated for the non-adventurous trekkers, first-time trekkers to the mountain, families, elderly, and the children. Annapurna circuit is an adventure Annapurna trek.

How expensive is Annapurna trek?

Normally, Annapurna trek packages are not very expensive because you don’t need to take the flights and some treks are short in days. Mustang is an expensive trek in the Annapurna region because it is a restricted trekking trail so you need to have the special trekking permit which cost 500 USD only for the permit.

Where can I start the Annapurna circuit trek?

Basically, Bhulbhule is the starting place of the Annapurna circuit if you have almost 3 weeks for Nepal but you may drive further ahead but the condition of the road is not so nice.

Can I drive to Manang?

Yes, you can drive to Manang but you drive directly to the 3440m above sea level so you might have a problem of the altitude sickness.

Can I visit Tilicho Lake during the Annapurna circuit trek?

Yes, it can be combined trek itinerary that visiting Tilicho Lake and cross Throng La pass so you need 3 extra days with Annapurna circuit trek itinerary.

Can a single person do the Upper Mustang trek?

No, at least 2 people need to have the permit for the upper Mustang trek and Nar Phu trek.

Is Annapurna trek has tea houses?

Yes, everywhere in the Annapurna region are tea houses or lodges for the trekkers.

What kind of the lodges and food can I get in Annapurna trek?

The lodges are nice and clean with a private room in most of the places in the Annapurna region. There are some community lodges in some trekking trails which are newly opened. The foods are serving with choosing able food menu prepared by the locally trained cooks.

How are the possibilities of drinking water in Annapurna?

You can buy the bottle of water most of the trekking trail. Some areas have the restriction of the plastic bottles so you need to buy boiled filter water of safe drinking water which you fill in your personal water bottles. You may take the water from the taps and use water purifying tablets also during the Annapurna trek.
